GoPro Mountain Games – Trip Report

Now that the dust has settled – and boy what a dust up it was – we wanted to report back with a few thoughts on the inaugural GoPro Mountain Games. Earlier this month Gerber joined nearly 30,000 of our closets friends and associates in Vail, CO for a three-day celebration of athletics, mountain culture, art and music.

We rolled to Colorado in our usual style – Black Boar at the ready and loaded for bear – and set up in the legendary Gear Town for three days of outdoor immersion.  As luck had it our spot was money – just a stones throw from the ‘international bridge’, the bacchanal of whitewater activities in the center of Vail Village and the perfect spot in which to broadcast Live from the Games in conjunction with the GearJunkie.com.

The week was a complete blur – and by that we mean an unmitigated success as – we got to rub elbows with an amazing array of people including consumers, athletes, fellow exhibitors and of course media…

Best of all perhaps, our limited edition ‘Golden Axes’ – awarded to the winners of each of the 21 competitions throughout the weekend – quickly became a coveted prize and was the talk of the Games among athletes, organizers and specters.

All in all we are spent, but so happy to have been a part of the weekend – and already cooking up plans for a return engagement. Hats off to the team here for all the hard work that went into the planning, preparation an especially the execution of the event!  More to come…
